The public in all its mass glory has taken to leggings the way it once took to skinny jeans, a trend that lingered in the spotlight beyond its 15 minutes and can only be described as having transcended from fad to necessity.

For fall 2009, ready-to-wear designer runways featured varied versions of leggings from gold lame, jewel-encrusted and skintight leather, to the new "tregging" - trouser leggings.

To support the trend of rising hemlines on dresses and skirts for this spring/summer 2009, leggings present an option of modesty and a "runway to realway" alternative to wearing the daring lengths so prevalent today.

Our two top reasons why leggings have become a wardrobe staple:

1. Pesky Pounds
If you want to camouflage those pesky pounds, you can still wear black and tell everyone you’re doing seasonless dressing. Black trousers might seem dull, but not if you focus on slim, ankle-length or above-ankle shapes in lustrous fabrics such as silk. For example, 3.1 Phillip Lim’s karate harem pants. We wanted to let the shoe thing have a moment to sink in before we had a second installment. Many of you, no doubt, spent years thinking you were right that sneakers and suits actually looked good together and admitting your wrong can take a while. Now it's time to talk about your watch.
I have to give credit where it is due, you wear a watch so we're half way there already. Presumably you have places to go and at specific times no less. I know you think you have found the perfect watch that transitions from the gym to the office but you're wrong. To start with you're co-working now so you're closer than ever to your colleagues and the graphic designer next to you is complaining about the smell. Do you remember how exciting it used to be to pick up film? Or deciding if it was worth an extra buck to speed the process up 23 hours? Do you remember the days when grain added texture that wasn't mathematically perfect? We miss those days. We miss looking through actual photo albums. We miss the old, beautiful pictures of our parents at the beach or playing tennis with wooden rackets. I remember growing up wishing I could take pictures like that. The colors were always so vibrant. There was a degree of warmth I couldn't get on my camera and still can't get with my digital camera today. It turns out the camera was the problem!

First up is the Diana. It's a medium format camera which means you can blow up that incredible shot of your dog as big as you want. The pictures from this camera are breathtaking. The Holga is kind of a clut classic. Each one has it's own personality. You'll get over exposures, under exposures, light leaks... It will make you look like a genius.
